Senior Experimental Film Project
Apr 17th, 2009 by chrisreed
Greg Almond, Class of 2009, Film Major, is about to finish his Senior Project, which consists of 3 rolls of 100′ of black & white negative film, exposed in a homemade pinhole camera, of his own design.
Here is a photo of Greg building the camera:
And here is photo of what the strip of 16mm black & white film looks like, after exposure and printing, of his self portrait:
Imagine how interesting (and abstract!) this will look when projected. Each frame will become a tiny speck of white, gray or black, with hints of this and that flickering before you. 100′ of 16mm film = 2:30 minutes of screentime.
Come on Friday, May 8, to the Inscape Theatre, on the Greenspring Campus of Stevenson University, to see the Senior Film/Video Showcase, at 7pm.
You will be able to see this project, as well as many more that showcase the best of our students’ work this year. Greg has two other images that he exposed in this way, to make an 8 to 8 1/2 minute piece (he reveals the actual images at the end).
We hope to see you then!
