Some examples of FLM108 Student Work
Apr 1st, 2009 by chrisreed
So – my FLM108 (Intro to Film) has been working hard this semester shooting, for the first, projects on 16mm Black & White film.
We have been using the marvelous ARRI-S MOS cameras, and using Kodak 16mm B&W Reversal Film.
Here are two examples. They’re simple, sure, but this is a beginning class.
The first film is a mise-en-scène single-shot exercise, modeled after the early films by the Lumière Brothers, in 1895. The second film is a montage film, modeled after the work of early Russian directors, like Kuleshov and Eisenstein, in the 1920s.
Enjoy!
Please note – the films were also edited the old-fashioned way, on a flatbed editing table, using splicers and splicing tape!
Thanks for watching!
